Animal Wellness Academy


1. Scope of Services

Animal Wellness Academy provides animal wellness training programs and courses comprising online course materials and supervised in-person, OR live on-line practical sessions. Completion of both components is mandatory for certification. Practical sessions are contingent upon participants’ adherence to safety protocols and animal-handling guidelines.


2. Enrolment & Registration

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Participants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or mobility limitations that may affect participation.

Registration Rules:

  • Enrolment is non-transferable unless approved in writing by Animal Wellness Academy.


3. Payment Terms
  • Full payment is required to secure enrolment.


4. Refund Policy
  • Online content is non-refundable once accessed.
  • In-person event fees are not refundable under any circumstance.

5. Cancellation/Postponement Policy

In the event of cancellation, postponement, or disruption due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., severe weather, natural disasters, public health emergencies, or government restrictions), participants may choose:

1 - Credit/Voucher

A credit equal to the in-person component’s value, valid for 12 months toward future courses/services.

2 - Virtual Makeup Session

A one-on-one or small-group session with the head instructor to fulfil practical learning objectives.

3 - Complimentary Future Event

A guaranteed spot at the next available in-person event. If rescheduled >6 months later, partial refunds for documented incidental expenses (e.g., travel) may be requested.

Note:

  • These remedies are exclusive to force majeure events.
  • This policy may be updated; participants will be notified via email.
  • Preference must be communicated within 14 days of cancellation.


6. Online Content Usage
  • Materials are for personal use only. Sharing or redistribution is prohibited.
  • Access expires 6 months post-course completion.


7. In-Person Event Rules

Mandatory Guidelines:

  • Attire:
  • Comfortable, flexible clothing (e.g., stretchy pants, loose tops).
  • Closed-toe, non-slip shoes (no sandals, heels, or open-toe footwear).
  • Tie back long hair; remove jewellery to avoid entanglement.
  • Animal Handling:
  • Handle animals gently; avoid sudden movements.
  • Cease activity immediately if an animal shows stress (e.g., growling, avoidance) and notify staff.
  • Follow hygiene protocols (e.g., hand washing).
  • Prohibited Items/Actions:
  • No food, treats, or unauthorized items in the training area.
  • No unsupervised practice or unauthorized techniques.

Consequences: Violations may result in dismissal without a refund.


8. Liability Waiver
  • Participants acknowledge inherent risks in animal massage and waive claims against Animal Wellness Academy, its staff, and affiliates for injuries, losses, or damages, except in cases of gross negligence.


9. Intellectual Property

All course content, trademarks, and logos are the property of Animal Wellness Academy. Unauthorized use is prohibited.


10. Code of Conduct
  • Treat instructors, staff, animals, and peers with respect.
  • Harassment, discrimination, or unethical behaviour will result in immediate dismissal without a refund.


11. Privacy Policy
  • Personal data is used solely for course administration and communication.
  • Data will not be shared with third parties, except as required by law.


12. Certification Requirements
  • Certification is awarded upon successful completion of both online and practical components.
  • Partial completion does not qualify for certification.


13. Changes to Terms
  • Animal Wellness Academy reserves the right to update these Terms. Participants will be notified via email and the course platform. Continued participation constitutes acceptance.


14. Governing Law
  • These Terms are governed by Queensland law. Disputes will be resolved in Queensland courts.
